Some considerations you need to make are the type of file of the photos and the storage device. For example, JPEG is the usual choice for storage because it offers smallest file size but the poorest in quality. On the opposite end is the DNG, it has the largest file size but has the best quality. JPEG is widely accepted and DNG is still being introduced.
