I wanted the color tones to pan across this image, with orange on the left and blue on the right. The orange appears to be emanating from the fire and the cold blue from the sky. I adjusted the white balance in the camera to play up the cooler colors, which offset some of the orange color from the CTO gel and brought a bluer hue to the natural daylight. This produced an interesting color temperature throughout the image that starts orange in the bottom left and fades into a cooler, bluer appearance in the top right corner.
