~ Big, Fat Cheater ~

During the last fifteen minutes of their lunch hour, the four boys came up with a plan to meet after school under the same big cottonwood tree where Jet had first shown the glove to Travis.

“I’m not sure if I can make it though,” said Eli. “I’ll try telling my mom that I need to stay after school in the library to help Kale with his homework again. She let me do that once before, so hopefully that will work.”

“Ok, well, we won’t be able to wait for you,” said Jet. “So if you’re not there on time, we’ll have to leave without you.”

Jet turned to Kale. “What about you? Are you gonna be able to make it ok?”

“No one gives a crap where I am after school,” said Kale. “So I’m good.”

“That sucks,” said Travis, and just then the bell rang to say lunch was over.
