Rules about Cleaning Kitchen Utensil after Cooking

Preparing a healthy and wholesome meal is a rewarding activity. The pleasure of creating something and then getting feedback from the family brings unmatched joy and satisfaction. There are several things you need to keep in the mind before, while and after cooking. The first and foremost is the cleanliness. If you want to stay healthy, you need to eat healthy, stay hygienic and keep your surroundings clean. Once you have finished cooking, served it and enjoyed eating it with family; the job doesn’t end here. After-cleaning is as important part of the cooking as is pre-cleaning and only this way you will get a clean kitchen for the next meal prep. Here are a few rules for cleaning the kitchen and utensils after cooking.

Immediately clean any spills on countertops and floors. This will help avoid a bigger mess and less of after cleaning. It is quicker, easier and more convenient.

Wash used utensils as you go. It is better to wash one bowl then and there instead of piling up a bunch of dirty bowls for later. Fresh utensils are easier to clean and take less time scrubbing.

Once you have used an electric appliance, remove the plug from the socket and clean the machine part with a damp cloth. Washable parts should be washed and dried properly before putting them in cupboards. Any humidity can cause rusting in appliances which can be avoided through proper cleaning and drying up afterward.

Ovens and gas stoves should be cleaned thoroughly. Use a good quality oven cleaner to clean grease. Always wear rubber gloves while using cleaning products. Any residue can be harmful and invites rodents and insects.

Wash the dishes, glass, mugs, bowls, cutlery, and utensils with mild warm water and soap and always dry the utensils before putting them in cupboards.

Always put everything in its designated place so it is easier to find them next time.

Once you are done with cleaning utensils, now is the time to clean countertops. Throw away the leftovers in the bin and place jars at their places. Put the leftover vegetables in the refrigerator.

Thoroughly clean the kitchen floor with a damp mop. You can always add a little floor cleaning liquid for a nice smelling kitchen.
