The next morning, when Tim finally woke up, he suddenly discovered that he was surrounded by a small group of students, who stood around the bed and literally hung onto the doctors every word, while he went about doing his checks and eventually sharing his daily prognosis with them. Absolutely amazed at what he was being told, Tim was completely over the moon when the doctor explained that his lungs were now completely clear of infection and his broken ribs appeared to be healing very nicely. He announced that he was a very lucky man, who seemed to be healing a lot quicker than anyone would have expected, and therefore there was no reason why he wouldn’t be able to go home. Therefore, he was even happier when Vicky arrived without any warning whatsoever, and hurriedly approached his bed with a smile. This was swiftly followed by the fantastic words.

‘I promised you I would return, sooner rather than later.’
