Drottningholm
For a perfect escape from the city, take in Drottningholm’s superb palace, theatre, park and Chinese pavilion, located on a small island in an inlet of Lake Mälaren. The splendid baroque park is a beautiful place for a leisurely stroll.
Distance: Approx 2km (1 mile), plus strolling
Time: Half a day, including travel time
Start: Drottningholm Slott
End: Kina Slott
Points to note: You can drive or take public transport to Drottningholm. Take T-Brommaplan and then bus Nos. 176, 177, 301, 323. From April to October you can take the ferry Strömma Kanalbolaget (www.stromma.se) from Stradshusbron (one hour).
