Summer Hill Terrace and Sand Pits
Some buildings were untouched by the redevelopment of the Sand Pits area. The Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of Theotokos and St Andrews was designed by J. A. Chatwin and opened in 1873. Following on from the church is a modern car showroom and forecourt on the corner of the Sand Pits and Camden Street.
Camden Street
After Camden Street the Sand Pits finishes and the Parade begins. In the new photograph Camden Street is a one-way street with no entry at this end and the amount of yellow lines suggest no parking either. Garages feature in both photographs, one repairing and the other selling cars.
