Wearing yesterday’s breezy dress, I walk out of the bedroom to confront the cockblockers, otherwise known as NYC Views’s camera crew. Could they have any worse timing?

“Hey,” I muster. Poor Jesse’s still in the bedroom trying to tame the beast we unleashed. It was the least I could do to get out here and stall for time.

The guys in the crew give me a double take, then they wave in greeting.

Better take this bull by the horns. “Jesse and I were working late last night—not doing actual changes but discussing our ideas. We fell asleep here. Sorry.”

The crew smirks, and I know they’re not buying what I’m selling. Oh well. I tried. Besides, who’s reputation am I trying to salvage? Not to mention this place is wired, so they might have been watching us. Although Quinn did say they would be turning off the cameras in the rooms once we filmed their episodes. I hope so. I don’t want our private business ending up in someone’s spank bank.

The leader of the pack replies, “Not a problem. We’re setting up for today’s shoot. Why don’t you go back to the ViewPad and put on a more appropriate work outfit? For filming, of course.” He snickers.

“Hey guys,” Jesse emerges from the back hallway. I wonder how he got himself under control in such a short time. On second thought, I don’t want to know.

They respond with a rousing, “Good morning,” and the guy closest to Jesse holds up his palm for a high five. With cheeks stained a light shade of pink, he connects with his own, then shakes his head.

“You can go about your business. Pretend like we’re not even here.”

Yeah, we’ll be right on that. I turn to Jesse. “I’m going up to the ViewPad to take a shower and get ready to face today’s challenge.”

“Go ahead. I’ll meet you there soon. I want to take one last look at the, uh, thing back there.” His thumb points toward the bedrooms.

Because I don’t know which “thing” he’s referencing, I give him a noncommittal nod. When I close the front door, I sag against it for a second, fanning my cheeks. While mortifying, the stuff that happened before was damn hot. Remembering Jesse’s hands all over my body, I take frustrated steps toward the elevator. My first orgasm with a man was so close.

Hope helps me sail into my bedroom in the ViewPad, where Mary Ellen’s working on her manicure. No wonder it always looks amazing.

“There you are.”

I flip open my luggage and toss through the assortment of clothes. More like the couple things I still have that are clean. If I had my phone, I could call our service to make a run. Maybe I should go shopping?

“Earth to Paige.”

“Excuse me.” I glance at my roommate. “Did you say something?”

She returns the brush into the nail polish container. “Have a good night?” Her eyebrow raises.

I control my need to crow about Jesse and me. “It was good.” Noncommittal enough?

Screwing shut the nail polish, she urges, “Do tell.
