Peyton dishes up the meat and potatoes onto two plates when James follows her into the kitchen. Setting them at the little table in her kitchen, she walks over to grab two forks and some napkins, and sits down to eat without acknowledging him.
Sheâs already began enjoying her dinner when he sits down across from her, picking up his fork and eating without complaint, his scrutinization burning her skin as they eat in silence.
âI had this plan on how I pictured the evening would go,â James finally says after finishing his meal, setting his fork down on the plate with a pronounced clink, and clearing his throat to get her attention. âThis is definitely not it.â
Her gaze remains level with his chest. âReally?â
âYes. I planned to sweep you off your feet, take you out to dinner where I would wine and dine you, and afterâ¦well, I would escort you home and seduce you like I've fantasized about doing a thousand times since the day you first walked to my classroom.â
âKissing me in your office that day fucked with my head,â she mutters, pushing her plate away, the knots in her stomach lessening her appetite. âI think a clean break wouldâve been easier. Instead, you walked away after doing that, making your rejection hurt more.â
âIâm sorry. That wasnât my intention.â
âI don't really know what to say.â Standing up, she picks up her plate and walks over to the trash, scraping the food into it before placing her plates and utensils in the sink. Turning on the faucet, she continued standing there while watching the water splash on the dishes, wondering what to do with the affection she thought sheâd stop feeling for him weeks ago.
James walks up behind her, turning off the water before wrapping his arms around her waist, and resting his chin on the top of her head.
âPlease accept my apology, Peyton.â He sighs when she says nothing, and continues in a gentle tone. âI never meant to hurt you. I assumed you understood what I implied: that after you graduated, you could seek me out. I waited for you, but you never came, so here I am.â
Wanting to believe him, she asks him in trembling voice, âNo games?â
âNo games,â he promises, hugging her a bit tighter in an attempt to reassure her. âI might not always say what you want to hear, but I won't lie to you.â
âAll right. I can live with that.â
He lets go of her waist long enough to brush her hair off her neck to the side, and she closes her eyes at the feel of him kissing the back of her neck. Leaning forward slightly, she tilts her head, letting her mind clear as she focuses on the way his mouth caresses her skin.
Moving one of his hands to her hip, he pulls her toward him, bringing her body intimately against his groin. The hard length of his cock nestles against her ass, and her insides turn to a gooey, hot, tight mess in anticipation of him being deep inside her.
