Chapter Fourteen
Alyxandra
The smell of flowers filled her nostrils. Alyx couldn’t remember the last time she had smelled such a rich sweet fragrance. She opened her eyes slowly as the grogginess faded away.
I can’t believe I survived that. She thought and sat up touching her neck. She looked around at an arboretum filled with colorful flowers. She saw roses, and tulips and lilies scattered about. But Jamir was nowhere in sight.
Why the hell does crazy shit keep happening to me! She mumbled to herself. Alyx looked up at the glass ceiling, the crescent moon illuminating the makeshift warehouse she was in.
“Hello Alyxandra,” a raspy voice said from behind her. She looked around her, waiting for the stranger to show himself.
And for the exit.
“Before I reveal myself you mustn’t fear my appearance. My people and I aren’t as welcomed as your wolf and witches. It’s not every day you see someone like me walking around Pearl,” the strange voice said again.
“Please don’t take offense to my crass tone. But I couldn’t care less what the fuck you look like. You could have scales for all I care. If you have something to tell me, get it out so I can be on my merry fucking way,” Alyx shot back. She saw the exit a few yards away from her and was ready to make a bolt for it. But she had to figure out where Jamir was hiding. He could easily stop her chances of escape.
She slowly stood up and brushed dirt off her jumpsuit. All the while looking around the flower pots for the slick fucker that had successfully kidnapped her. She had a feeling neither Roman nor Dante was going to save her this time. She was on her own.
“Why did Jamir bring me here?” Alyx asked.
Alyx didn’t know if some plant eating monster or bigfoot was going to jump out and attack her. She ran her fingers across her neck, remembering Carmen draining her blood, after being invited out to so called catch up.
Finally deciding to make her escape, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her towards the red exit sign. Alyx picked up some speed dodging between the different sized flower pots and busted through the door.
Feeling freedom within her grasp, she slammed into Jamir’s large chest. “Shit!” She screamed as he wrapped his hands around her and picked her up walking her back into the center of the greenhouse.
“Get your hands off me!” She yelled and starting kicking him.
“Stop kicking. I will never hurt you! Orin needs to speak with you and I will bring you back to the Blakemore’s. I give you my word, my queen.”
Queen? Now that was a new one. Alyx thought.
“Ok, damn you know I can walk, right?” Alyx said giving in. But Jamir kept walking anyway. Sure he wouldn’t hurt her and vowed to bring her back to the mansion. But other than that he wouldn’t listen to her.
Just perfect.
Jamir slowly dropped her at the base of an old looking tree with unusually fluorescent green leaves.
