Chapter 25

Once Billy was gone, Riley poured herself a very full glass of tequila, then grabbed a beer from the fridge and headed over to where Kitty was sitting. Claiming the seat beside her sister, she offered the beer, but Kitty just set it on the table beside a half-finished one. Knock was sprawled on the couch beside theirs, and Logan moved to sit on the arm beside Riley, although it was really more like perching.

"How you holding up, chica?" Riley asked.

Kitty shrugged, trying to act like she was tough. "I'm good. Had a feeling I was going to be the target this time, ever since that picture this morning. Just figured it would be more slut-shaming and less revenge porn."

"Yeah," Riley agreed. "I'm definitely going to punch that guy in the dick if I see him again."

Kitty actually chuckled. "Thing is, I actually look pretty good in that video, you know? And he's like a two-pump chump. Why would he show it?"

"Because," Knock said, "it's never the guy's fault. We're supposed to get laid, but women are whores if you do the same."

"He's not wrong," Logan admitted. "Although it sure doesn't make it hurt any less."

"I'm fine," Kitty said again. "Pissed that I ruined Riley's big win, but that's it. The conversation should be about her, not me!"

"I'm not worried about it," Riley promised. "I've done it once, which means I can do it again, and then again, and maybe a few more times just to piss these fucknuts off. Honestly, chica, talk to me?"

Kitty grabbed her hand. "I promise you that I'm fine. This isn't anything that I didn't expect. It's kinda what guys do, you know?" She glanced at Logan and Knock. "I mean, not you two, but everyone else? Yeah. They're raised that we're supposed to sit down, shut up, raise the kids, and make dinner, you know? That's why they tell us to get back in the kitchen and make them a sandwich, and I'd rather show my tits and ass to the entire world than act like that's ok."

"But you didn't ask for this," Riley insisted.

She pushed out a breath of frustration. "Riley, listen to me. I'm pissed. I'm real fuckin' pissed, but I'm not going to cry in my beer because I like to get laid. I'm not about to run away screaming because someone calls me a bad name. I saw what they did to you when you were CareBear, and hiding didn't make it stop. All it did was give them the chance to pick another target. They left you alone and went after Dez! See, I listen, and it sounds like when you gave up on your run for the pros, those assholes fucked up Dez instead, and fuck that. I'd rather have that video plastered all over the world than play it safe and see another woman get raped!"

"But you shouldn't have to choose," Riley snapped.

"And that's not the fucking world we live in, hun. Men do real bad things to women, and there are two ways to deal with it.
