Exhausted, Ryder continued to pump his arms until his muscles quivered and ached. He was as far away from Lynn as it was possible to get in the crowded swimming area. There wasn’t any need to push himself further.

He loved Lynn, wanted her more than he’d ever longed for anything in his life. She’d wanted him, too. She was on fire for him. He hadn’t dared to dream she would feel this strongly for him. But he didn’t want a physical relationship with her that wasn’t rooted in commitment. Her talk about keeping their affair a secret from the kids had been bad enough, but dragging up the subject of birth control was more than he could take. In the blink of an eye, he’d gone from aroused and eager to confused and irritated. He didn’t want a casual affair with Lynn. He was looking for more from her than a few stolen moments together to ease the explosive physical need they felt for each other.
