An extremely common reason we lose interest in projects is the oppressive feeling that we will never complete them. If you can't see the end of the journey, it gets a lot harder to keep slogging on when the going gets tough (or boring). Whether we like it or not, we are wired to want the dopamine hit of accomplishment, and some projects are so tedious, long or difficult we feel we never get it. If looking at what you're working on makes you feel despair or apathy, or like you can't ever imagine what it will be like done, this is the problem you need to address.
