Chapter Six

I can feel Kennedy’s eyes on me, and it makes me want to do everything in the world just to tease her. I honestly don’t know what’s going through her mind right now but I’m sure she has a lot of questions. I don’t know if I can answer them, focusing on making breakfast, but by the mystified look on her face, I know she’s going to be asking questions as soon as she is ready. I just prepare myself for it, keeping my eyes locked on the task as I know Mateo is getting ready for the day. I know he has a meeting with the captain about what had happened last night because I guess that bastard had let it slip that Mateo is the one who had broken his wrist.

I know that neither one of us will lose our job because that wouldn’t be good for the station. We’re their best officers and they know that we wouldn’t just hurt someone for no reason. Mateo had every reason to break that piece of shit to pieces and I hope he says that to the captain as well. I would have been pissed if I had learned that Mateo had let the bastard get away with grabbing Kennedy the way that he did. That would have just shown the bastard that he could do whatever he wanted with no consequences. I don’t agree with that at all.

He’s lucky I wasn’t there because I would have cut off his balls as well. I would have probably taken his tongue as well because then he would never have the chance to try to mess around with another girl who had adamantly told him no., I had Archer send me the security footage so I could watch and make sure that Mateo didn’t go ballistic for no reason. Kennedy didn’t freak out for no reason and that was obvious from what I saw on the screen. When I saw the bastard grab her, it made my blood boil. I wanted to slaughter him. I wanted to rip his head off and make sure that he never touched Kennedy again.

He’s very lucky it was Mateo there. I’ll let the bastard know that as well. I’ll tell anyone who dares to ask me, too. I hated that I wasn’t there to help because I was dealing with the aftermath of stupid outsiders. I don’t know what they want at this point, but I know they are going to cause nothing but trouble. According to the Captain, they want sanctuary in our town because they are running away from the leaders of the MC group that they had belonged to. If nobody protects them, then they are surely going to lose their lives.

I don’t know why they expected me to care because there’s no reason, we should be allowing them into our town. If they are lying, then there is a chance that they could attack us when we least expect it. I don’t want to be dealing with anybody like that, that’s for sure.
