PARSVOTTANASANA IS AN ASYMMETRICAL standing forward bend that offers a whole-body stretch, hence one of its other names—the Intense Side Stretch Pose. Also known as the Pyramid Pose, this asana offers the benefits of three major kinds of yoga movements: forward bending that stretches the hamstrings, glutes, and calf muscles; backward bending that releases your shoulder girdle and upper-back muscles and stretches your wrists and forearms; and balancing, which improves your coordination.
