That kiss in the pool had rocked Naomi so much that she’d blurted out and asked Rohn if he wanted to have dinner with them tonight. But several hours later, she was regretting that impulse immensely.

“But he’s a prince!” she almost wailed to Katrina in panic as she looked at the mess that was the small kitchenette in the corner of the main living area of her rooms. “How can I serve him pizza and fries?”

Katrina, sitting at the end of the breakfast bar, chuckled as she surveyed the chaos in front of Naomi.

“He might be a prince, love, but he’s a warrior. Most of these guys spend all their time on warships eating rations or whatever the mess halls put out. I doubt he’s ever had pizza and fries, but I can tell you what he’s definitely never had…”

“Oh? What’s that?” Naomi arched an eyebrow as she slid the pizza into the oven.

It had been easier than she’d thought to get the ingredients for the meal. The LMP section had a whole grocery store, stocked to the brim with human and allied colonies foods. Things she’d only ever read about as well, like avocados. She’d marveled over those for a while, but since she had no idea what to do with them, or any of the fancy ingredients, she’d opted for something she knew how to make. Pizza and fries.

“He’s never had a meal made just for him by a woman before. You’ll make him feel like a god, just by cooking pizza and fries.” Katrina smiled, a glass of wine in her hand.

She’d told Naomi earlier that she was her only candidate at the moment, and she wouldn’t take on another until Naomi’s mating was settled and she’d accepted Rohn’s claim. Or someone else’s if she didn’t want Rohn.

But she did want Rohn. She hugged the memory of that kiss to herself as she set the fries on a tray as well. It had been soft and sweet but had been made hotter by the feel of his large, hard body brushing against hers in the water. She’d ached to touch that body and explore it as soon as she’d seen him there in nothing but his swim trunks. In the water, his hair wet, he’d been even more devastating.

“Okay, that should do it,” she said as she set the timers. “Would you be okay to watch Maddy for a moment while I get changed?”

“Of course, love, you go already!” Katrina waved her away, already making her way to the couch near where Maddy was playing with her toys. Another box had arrived this afternoon after they’d gotten back from swimming—a huge box. She suspected that Rohn had simply bought a toy shop to send over. His thoughtfulness made her heart melt. If this was a dream, as she was beginning to suspect, she never wanted to wake up.

It didn’t take her long to shower and change. She would have done the traditional panic about what to wear
