The two men walked out of the building. Before they’d left, Rashidevqov procured one of the translating devices for Talib. He said that it would be on semi-permanent loan to him, until he no longer needed it.

Talib attempted to look calm and slightly disinterested. He failed miserably. The sun was well over the horizon by now, and the sky was a light purple. Both moons were still visible. A light breeze was blowing. The weather was warm and comfortable.

They walked on a paved walkway through a garden of sorts: beautifully manicured and filled with stone sculptures. Talib asked about the design of the sculptures. Rashidevqov replied in his own language, and the translator rendered it “They are based on a combination of anionic, non-anthropomorphic metaphysical symbolism combined with a system of mathematical models based on ancient chaos theory equations and fractal geometry which, like quantum mechanics, transcend the limitations of Newtonian linear physics”.

“Cool” Talib said. Rashidevqov wasn't sure if he was referring to the weather or using a colloquialism. He would ask him later.

Up ahead at a distance was what looked like a town square (yet there were no squares here). Various other walkways weaved through the large garden, occupied by robed people of all sizes, ages, and races. Some of the races he couldn’t identify; including several that didn’t exist during the 21st century.
