Lindsey arrived at Utah Lake State Park and pulled her wetsuit from the back of her SUV. A boat had sunk across the lake and its passengers were treading water in two-foot waves. South-end team members had picked up watercraft from the S.O. and were now backing their trailers down the boat ramps. If Lindsey wanted to get an assignment to ride one to the scene, she had to get ready quickly.

By opening the driver’s door, her car and the truck parked next to her made an enclosed dressing room where she stripped down and put on her swimming suit before stepping into the tight-fitting neoprene wetsuit and slipping her arms into her PFD. She stuffed a waterproof radio into one of the pockets and took one last look over herself to make sure she had everything she needed.

Now ready for action, she slammed her car door shut and started toward CP for an assignment when a face caught her attention. A face through a windshield. The man in the truck parked next to her with a front row seat to her private dressing room wore a wide, happy grin.
