This smoothie has a rich berry flavor with a bouquet of ginger and spice. Additionally, piperine, the active ingredient in black pepper, may boost turmeric’s anti-inflammatory action by 2000% by increasing the bio-availability of curcumin.

Ingredients:

½ cup blackberries

½ cup frozen strawberries

½ cup ice

¼ cup coconut water

2 tablespoons chia seed

½ teaspoon fresh ginger root

½ teaspoon turmeric powder

1 pinch of fresh ground black pepper

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Drink immediately.
