BOLAN STOOD and snapped the comm link shut. Things could be worse. He had been dropped into a war on three fronts, and with luck he might just be down to two. He doubted whether this was going to make his life any easier. The Executioner turned as Chris Racine jogged across the sand toward him.

"You have a telephone call. It's Dr. Tutarotaro, and he says it's important."

Bolan nodded. "I'll take it in the conference room."

The Executioner examined the compound as he walked through it. The team had done an excellent job repairing the battle damage. The walls of the sheds now looked like modern art murals of sheet-metal patches and welds. Bolan glanced at the boat shed and couldn't help but grin. Howard Redland had run out of sheet metal, so he had taken tin snips and cut patches out of empty beer cans. It made for a very interesting looking wall. Bolan shook his head in admiration.

He walked into the conference shed, and Redland was waiting for him with the phone in his hand. He handed over the receiver and closed the door behind him as he left. Bolan leaned against the wall. "Hello, Doctor, what can I do for you?"

Dr. Tutarotaro's voice spoke quietly. "I have another body."

Bolan nodded. It was the kind of call he was expecting from the man. "What kind?"

"A murdered one."

"Who?"

The doctor sighed. "A native man named Fata Lahona. I didn't know him all that well. He recently moved onto the main island from one of the outer atolls and lives on the other side of the island from me. But I know of him. He was one of the leading warriors in the Isolationist Movement and was very vocal about how he felt and what should be done. I'm sure he was one of the warriors who attacked your compound. When I received his body, it was covered with blunt trauma from the riot rounds you used."

"I assume that his bruises weren't the cause of death."

"You assume correctly."

"Who brought him in?"

"A friend of his and his wife brought him in about an hour ago."

"How did he die?"

Tutarotaro's voice lowered even more. "In a way you and I have discussed before."

Bolan glanced at the wall map of the Pacific Trust Group. "What actions have you taken?"

"I have conducted a preliminary autopsy."

Bolan paused. "You haven't contacted the constable's office or the minister of security?"

Tutarotaro took a long, slow breath. "No. I have contacted only you. I have asked his family to keep quiet about what has happened and to allow me to hold the body for a day or two."

"You want me to take a look at it."

"I would appreciate it. I doubt whether you will disagree with my findings, but I would like you to look at it anyway. Then I believe you and I need to talk privately."

"I agree. What time?"

The doctor paused a moment. "I have had a steady stream of men trickling into the clinic today, most of them with heavy bruising and respiratory complaints.
