On completion of the journey, the FFLs present their projects to the senior leadership and the best is awarded on the spot. A Talent Board happens every year, where the FFL profiles are shared before the Senior Leadership for prospective critical openings in their business verticals.

Innovative Initiatives in Developing and Leveraging Employer Branding

O.P Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarship (OPJEMS) is a scholarship program where students from Tier 1 campuses (16 B-Schools and 24 Engg Colleges) who demonstrate similar values as those possessed by Late Shri O P Jindal (the founder of O.P. Jindal Group of companies which is over US $ 18 billion presently) are selected and awarded coveted OPJEMS scholarship.

SIP & MIP: JSW has a distinguished Summer Internship Program (SIP) and Management Internship Program (MIP), where we closely engage with Tier-I campuses (leading Tier-I under graduate Colleges & B-Schools) and invite them to do live projects for a duration of three months at JSW under the guidance of senior and top management. During the internship, the Interns work with a mentor, have complete access to the data and systems in a live atmosphere, with regular reviews, so that they can deliver a innovative solution for the business project they are working on.

Case study and speaker in various forums: We are one of the Leading Power Sector companies, which is in a quest with its own, trying to surpass various benchmarks set by itself. The innovative solutions are shared with the industry and academia via means of case studies and technical papers written by our employees. There are various publications including those published at IIM A.

Innovative Learning & Development Strategies and Methods of Measuring its Effectiveness

We have a diverse talent ranging from Tier 1 B-Schools/ Engineering Colleges to local Diploma and Degree Institutes. The plant locations are very diverse, ranging from sub-zero temperature in Himachal (Kinnaur) to Border city of Barmer with 50+ degrees in summers. Large population comes in Shifts, work on shared consoles while those in offices have access to both laptops and smart phones. The challenge is to develop learning programs for all to meet these diverse needs. Also, as we are in a highly regulated sector, where there are not too many courses available off the shelf on technical or regulatory aspects.

JSW Learning Academy has been started for learning on the go, at your own choice of place, time and topic, which included courses from Harvard Manage mentor, Skill soft and specially curated courses on Legal and Energy sector.

Apart from above based on the business issue, various tailor made solutions are curated, which include programs like:

Battle field simulation to enhance Team Building, understand Leadership Styles, their impact on results in various situations, importance of sharing knowledge in timely manner.
