Served on the rocks, or Stone Walls, this drink combines every clear, queer spirit in your well. Mix it all up, splash it with a little sweet, a little sour, and you’ve got yourself everything under the rainbow in one tall glass. Time to come out and GIVE ’EM HELL-GBTQ!

BERNARDINE DOHRN
WEATHER UNDER-GREYHOUND (GREYHOUND/SALTY DOG)
The aspects of patriotism that hush dissent, encourage going along, and sanction comfortable distancing and compliance with what is indecent and unacceptable . . . are too fundamental to ignore or gloss over.
—Bernardine Dohrn
Bernardine Dohrn was a prominent student organizer who helped found the Weather Underground, a left-wing, radical, and black power organization. The group known as the Weathermen was formed by the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in opposition to the Vietnam War. The group took a direct-action, militant, and socialist approach to challenge what they perceived as a corrupt government built on classist, capitalist organization. Dohrn’s work landed her on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, forcing her to live on the run for a decade.
Dohrn and her husband emerged from hiding in 1980 and turned themselves in to the FBI, only to find that most charges against them had been dropped due to illegal wiretapping. After serving three years’ probation, Dohrn joined a prestigious Chicago law practice, where she befriended, among other prominent activists, Michelle Obama, a fellow attorney at the firm. In addition to her work in law, Dohrn is a board member of numerous human rights organizations, including heading the Children and Family Justice Center at Northwestern University, where she champions the needs of adolescents and their families using a leftist, socialist academic framework. Her many years living and working underground may have put her off the map, but they also planted seeds and helped grow a movement.
