Many people have a terrible image of witches bewitching the innocents with their various herbs. That is why it is hard to believe that most witches are just herbalists who have mastered the art of using different herbs and plants to heal people from different ailments. Some perceive witches as evil people, and that is so unfair, to say the least. Most of the ingredients used by witches come from nature, and it is impossible to underestimate their power to heal different diseases.
The black magic
Another misconception. Why on earth do people think that Wiccans use black magic or are devil worshippers? This is pure nonsense. Wicca is a neo-pagan religion build on the ideas of the old pagan religions which was forgotten after the introduction of Christianity. If you have any ideas of black magic, just know that it has nothing to do with the Wiccan religion at all. Although there are some Wiccans who attempt negative magic, which cannot be termed as summoning the demons. That can only be considered as a spell that hurt someone or the attempt to assist someone against their wish. In general, most Wiccans strongly believe in doing well with zero evil, just like the Wiccan Rede.
The pentacle
The pentacle has a special position in Wicca. It is a very important symbol. It has five points which represent the five elements of Wicca, that is, air, fire, earth, water, and spirit. These elements are drawn from the densest to the least dense and the spirit on the very top. This is done so to signify the importance of the soul above elements. Satanists who use something similar to this have perverted the Wiccan image for their own selfish reasons. When the church of Satan was opened in the United States, they chose the symbol of an inverted pentacle with a goat head as the most essential symbol. Hence, if you have not come across such a symbol, do not conclude that you are dealing with a devil worshipper.
The Wiccan rites
Since Wiccan is a religion of fertility, babies are counted as a major blessing to every couple. Wiccans actually have a rite known as wiccaning, which is a ceremony meant to welcome a new baby to the world. It is recommended that the parents of the newborn perform the ceremony when the moon is full or waxing and in line with the baby’s astrological sign. During the time of the ceremony, the practitioner is then supposed to cast a circle just the same way it is done for any magic. The practitioner should then light a candle inscribed with the baby’s name, date of birth, and astrological sign. Although there are different variations to this type of ceremony, the basic idea is for the child to be prayed for, blessed, and the parents to celebrate and welcome their child into this world.
