CHAPTER 33: ONLY ONE NIGHT

The shower is just what I need. It gets my mind off Des. Afterward as I lay in bed trying to sleep, I try surfing through the channels. This must go on for about an hour, but I only become more restless. I decide to cut off the TV. Maybe the peace and quiet will help me. As I lay in the dark, my mind wanders back to Des. I keep replaying the kiss over and over in my mind. I really do love her, and if I get her back, I am going to treat her like she is gold. I am going to treat her the way I should have been treating her from the beginning.

At that very moment the bedroom door opens. It’s pitch dark. I can’t see a thing. As quick as it opens it closes. Someone is in the room. I don’t move, but I am ready to defend myself if this is a home invasion. I tell you, they picked the wrong house.

Then I hear a whisper. “Jess.”

It’s Des. Why is she whispering?

“Jess,” she says again, but louder.

I don’t want her to think that I’m awake so I fake like I’m sleeping for a minute, and then with a groggy voice I say, “Yes?”

“It’s me,” she says.

I can feel her grab the covers, and to my surprise she gets into bed with me.

“Jess, are you awake? It’s me.”

I can’t believe this. What is she doing here? Well, my question is answered as quickly as I asked. She’s naked!

As she pulls herself next to my body, I can feel that she had no clothes on — I mean nothing. No panties, no bra, only her birthday suit. She starts kissing me on my lips. I don’t say a word, I just respond. As we kiss she eases up on top of me.

As she nestles her body into position, she pauses. “Am I hurting you?” she whispers in my ear.

With a groan, I reply, “No.”

“Good. Put this on.” She leans over, opens the bottom drawer of the night stand, and pulls out a condom.

How did she do that in the pitch dark? She’s good.

I don’t hesitate. I grab it and place it on without missing a beat. I hope this don’t kill me, but even if it does this is the way I want to go.

Through all of the years that I have had sex with Des, this is the first time with a condom.

She is very gentle with me. She takes her time and constantly asks me if I am OK, and without hesitation, I reply, “Yes, keep going.” It’s like music as our bodies move as one. Sex with Des has always been great. That area of our relationship was always good, but like I said, it was me. I was the problem.

As we continue I have to concentrate on something or I am going to relieve myself.

It’s all coming back to me. This was why I was a great lover, because I had control.
