Sharing the Perfect Melancholy Square

Chuck and I used to know a couple who shared the Perfect Melancholy square in common. They lived next door to us in our neighborhood right before they bought their dream house. The wife was a Powerful Choleric/ Perfect Melancholy, while the husband was a Perfect Melancholy/ Peaceful Phlegmatic.

In contrast to the couples with the Popular Sanguine square in common, those who share the Perfect Melancholy trait are the picture of success. They are usually well-educated, drive the right cars, and have large homes. They have retirement funds and their futures are fully mapped out.

When we use go to this couple’s home for a social event, we always had a lovely time. When we left, Chuck and I would say to each other, “That was nice.” And it was. We didn’t leave bursting with excitement, slapping our knees, or talking about what a blast it was. The Perfect Melancholy home isn’t that type. Couples who share the Perfect Melancholy square are pleasant and enjoyable, but “fun” and “exciting” are not the first words you would use to describe them.
