Linda was eventually able to see that her depression and exhaustion originated in her narcissistic family, where she was obliged to take care of her parents’ needs and had learned that being a caretaker was her role in life. Eventually she learned to take better care of herself. She was an extraordinary and special, loving person, and when she was able to give some of that love to herself, she blossomed.

Needing help, validation, and encouragement in order to work on building a sense of self is to be expected, especially when you’ve lacked those things in your family of origin. We will work together on this in Part Three: Healing and Breaking Free.
