Ideas for a Science Fair Project

Make latent fingerprints on different surfaces. You might try paper, metal, cloth, wood, and others. From which surfaces can you lift fingerprints easily? From which surfaces is it difficult to lift fingerprints? Do this under adult supervision. Do not breathe in powdered graphite. Wear a dust mask and plastic gloves.

Examine the paws of a dog or cat. Do these animals’ paw prints resemble fingerprints?
