And the poorest of the poor are people who have no one, who have nothing, maybe spiritually, maybe physically. In the rich countries, we have more hunger for love, there are many more people who are lonely, who feel unwanted, frightened, bitter and that’s spiritual poverty. Abortion—spiritual poverty and physical. And we have people who are dying for a piece of bread who are cold, who have no home, have to sleep in the street. But we must know both sides—are the people, my brother, my sister. That’s where you and I must be able to put our love for God in a living action. Because we all want to love God. I’m sure deep down in your heart you have that desire to love God and how will we love God? By putting that love into a living action first in your own home. Love begins at home and then after [with the] next door neighbor. And that neighbor may be a very poor person. It’s a very beautiful thing.
