The key to learning all Self-Talk is repetition, repetition, repetition. That is how the brain was designed to be programmed in the first place. So when we use repeated Self-Talk phrases of the best kind, as we do now when we listen to Self-Talk on CDs or on our portable audio players, we are finally giving ourselves the programs we should have gotten in the first place—and we are getting those new programs in the most natural way possible—by hearing them. And because it’s a recording, we hear the Self-Talk repeated, and each time, in exactly the right way. It is through hearing this form of repetition, that the brain most easily and rapidly imprints the new Self-Talk and makes it permanent.

When I first wrote on this subject more than twenty-five years ago, I was somewhat hesitant to speak too strongly about the positive effects of listening to recorded Self-Talk, (at that time on cassettes). I was hesitant simply because I was the one who was personally writing, recording and publishing Self-Talk albums for a rapidly growing number of people who were listening to those Self-Talk programs every day, and I never wanted to sound too commercial about the whole idea.

Now, these many years later, as many thousands of listeners all over the world continue to change their lives in the positive each day, just by listening, my position is very clear: If I could, I would somehow add positive, uplifting Self-Talk to every family and every home, everywhere. There should be no home without it. If Self-Talk was a part of all of our homes, our lives would be better, and our world would be a much brighter place to be.
