The Bad Side of That Special Relationship

In addition to dog owners and professors of evolutionary biology, governments are also interested in the symbiotic relationships of dogs and people. The United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) is very interested in dogs. Dogs are a pest species for most local and national governments for many reasons, the worst being they are the vector for several human diseases (fig. 11, top).
