That is only the beginning. A lizard needs to hatch two birds, of the opposite sex, so that the new species can perpetuate itself. Then it can only perpetuate itself by breeding between brothers and sisters (unless, of course, a lizard hatches more birds as the need arises).
Inbreeding – incest- does not create vital new species. New species require new genetics. New genetics does not come from an old species – it is a feature of a new species.
Can you explain how Mother and Father Archaeopteryx suddenly landed here, complete, brand new, all the genetic content of the species within their genes, and no tendency to have lizards for children?
There are remarkable similarities between the oldest known fossil bird and extinct reptiles – some of which may have been warm-blooded and feathered. Similarities notwithstanding; the big question is the ‘quantum leap’ involved. This ‘leap’ was not restricted to any one division of life. Mammals fly (bats) and reptiles flew. Insects fly. Flying cannot be a product of animal lineages, because it crosses lineages. Even in the case of the reptiles and the flying reptiles, the differences are so great as to relegate the similarities to the realm of the trivial. In short, one cannot glue on wings and expect to fly. To fly requires a body fitted for the air. A totally new system of balancing, new internal organs, a new way of life - in fact, a whole new organism. Put wings on a car, but it will not fly. An aeroplane may in some ways resemble a car, but it is entirely different in basic design. The earliest known bird resembled the reptiles, but according to the fossil record, it lived in the age of reptiles, implying that reptilian features were then highly desirable for survival. And when flying became useful to yet to be revealed mammals, mammals flew. Flying is not the product of environmental conditions: it was available across the spectrum. It is the outcome of information, available to various divisions of life! Environmental conditions may have played some part in triggering the availability of wing-building information. Where did the information itself originate?
It may be contended that darwinist evolutionary theory has altogether confused itself. Is it alone in this confusion? Superficially, Archaeopteryx most closely resembles the reptiles; but in terms of basic structure, in terms of the basic construction of the body and all its component parts - ignoring their outward shape, which is merely a secondary consideration - the birds, which move in a fluid medium, are more closely related to another group of organisms, which also move in a fluid medium - the fishes. And, quite obviously, it is a much easier step to go from moving in water to moving in air than from moving on land to moving in air. We have no difficulty in finding at least one logical ancestor of the birds!
Like the ancestors of the horses, they are with us today - the flying fish. No doubt many a
