You should not skip meals.

A Well-Balanced Diet

Avoid skipping meals: Doing so may lead to you making bad diet-related choices during the day and cause you to become unduly tired.

Breakfast: Don’t skip breakfast. You need the energy gained from the foods that are eaten during the first meal of the day to help carry you through the day. Try easy-to-fix, high-fiber cereals and breads with fruit.

Lunch: Maintain your level of energy for the rest of the day by eating a variety of breads, lean protein, fiber, whole wheat noodles, salad greens, and fruit-and-vegetable drinks.

Dinner: Try consuming warm-roasted vegetables, fresh fish, whole-wheat pasta, sweet potatoes, and grilled lean meat, before ending your dinner with cheese and fruit or a low-fat yogurt.
