The Invitations

Carolyn’s inspiration also came from classic royal weddings, especially that of Princess Grace of Monaco. The elegant wedding invitations she chose could certainly have come by royal proclamation! The classic Cartier cards were cream with a gold beveled border and gold script. The style was carried through, from the save-the-date announcements to the menu cards. They were elegant in their simplicity but magical in their fairy-tale wedding opulence.

The Wedding Party

Carolyn’s seven bridesmaids included her sister as her maid of honor. Carolina Herrera’s designs included an evening gown with the same floral design as the wedding gown Carolyn had selected, so her sister dazzled in the coordinating gown in slate gray. The rest of the wedding party wore black one-shoulder gowns by Alvina Valenta that Carolyn selected for their small details, such as a bow on the shoulders and a small train in the back.
