SHOOTING UP
The cold open is a backstory, giving the viewer a look at Jesse and Jane’s visit to the Georgia O’Keeffe museum in Abiquiú, New Mexico. Their lovely conversation in Jesse’s car afterwards is heart-rending.
An up-and-through POV shot of Jesse cracking meth is used again for the cooking montage, and an upward-looking POV from the bottom of Skyler’s pasta pot transitions to the White family dinner scene.
Again the NA group is shown as being a pool of light surrounded in darkness, a darkness into which Jesse and Andrea disappear after he picks her up for the first time.
