Chapter Six – Hey Daddy

Linda sat at the kitchen table staring at the remnants of scrambled eggs scattered over the floor. Since Buster had licked everything, she now had to mop. To make matters worse, in a few hours her father would arrive from New York to see her new house, and to top it all off, she was horny as hell.

“Damn you, Kieran, you muscled bound, silver-tongued love stud!” she said, touching her breasts. The feel of his hot mouth lingered even though he was no longer in her home. In her mind, she knew he wasn’t that strong. If she took a plate of anything to his front door and walked inside and dropped her pants, he would break and give her what she needed.

“I want him,” she said.

Niggling doubts filled her head at the thought of him being right in his assessment of the type of woman she was versus the woman she believed herself to be. She didn’t want a boyfriend and had no need for a husband, and he would have been perfect to have over few nights a week, provide a little maintenance in between big projects, maybe grab dinner and a show every now and then, but he lived next door. That was just too close for comfort.

Sighing, she got to her feet. Breakfast was ruined. The coffee was cold, and dog slobber was all over her floor. Linda padded her way to the closet to get the mop to clean up the mess before her father arrived. She worked at a steady pace, cleaning the kitchen and taking down a few steaks to put on the grill for dinner. Her father wasn’t up to date on the latest movies so anything in her MoviesAnywhere catalog would work for after dinner.

“Kieran,” she whispered into the air, hoping her voice would carry over the cosmos and bring him back to her. She fancied him in the worst kind of way, meaning she couldn’t have the man, which only made her want him more. “Damn it.”

This time she sat down at her computer and pulled up his social media. The hydra virus was gone, and now on her own page were cat videos. Loads and loads of cat videos: cats in cute outfits, cats in hats, and cats on mats. Her mouth dropped at the number of friend requests from fellow cat lovers, and she started to laugh.

“Touché, Dawg. Touché,” she said, clicking a few images and typing in his name. His profile came up, and she began to search his page for clues of what he liked to do in his downtime. Secretly, she also searched to see if there was a woman in his life. The cursor scrolled to the “About” section on the profile page that brought up his background and education. Curiosity urged her hand to click on “Family and Relationships,” and she gave an audible sigh when she saw he was single.

“Okay, he is a native of Florida,” she said, looking at the places he’d lived.
