The Raised-Bed Garden
It can be my next venture if all goes great with vegetables from the container greenhouse. A raised-bed garden offers you a bit more room for experimenting and can deliver better yields. Although suitable for a somewhat larger area, this style of garden can be a perfect replacement to direct-to-ground planting, particularly if your soil settings aren't suitable.
Supplies Needed
When you think of growing vegetables in a raised-bed garden but quickly put off by pre-made bed costs, you can create them for a quarter of the cost yourself. Cut off cedar boards (the wood is resistant to rots), a few layers of topsoil, newspaper, manure, grass clippings, peat moss, plants, fruit, and a hand tiller are what you'll need for this horticultural trip.
Cost factor
The design of a raised-bed garden does not cost the frame itself a great deal. Given that ground clippings, magazines, and water are usually safe; you will pay the extra dirt, plants, and hand tiller costs. The spare hand tiller may also be lent from a relative or neighbor for added savings, and fertilizer can be prepared at home, as illustrated later in this report.
What to Grow
Every type of crop you can grow in a container greenhouse, you can grow in a raised-bed greenhouse much better. The soil is cooler, you have more space, and the drainage is stronger.
Plants which grow well in elevated-bed gardens include:
Asparagus
Rhubarb
Beans
Brussels
Broccoli
Pumpkins
Spinach
