Materials

• Tweedy Chanel-style jacket

• 1½ yd. (1.4 m) lavender silk ribbon, 2 ¼ in. (5.7 cm) wide

• Assorted silk flowers

• Scrap paper and regular and colored pencils

• Muslin scraps for backing the writing and the tower

• Heart-shaped button

• Small amount of yarn for the words

• Embroidery thread or fine pearl cotton

• Sparkle ribbon for the Eiffel Tower

• Fabric glue

• Scrap of tulle

JACKET ATTRIBUTES * The Chanelstyle jacket used for this project was a size 2. It had three seams in the back and fold-up sleeves, both attributes that made it a good candidate for this project. Three back seams lend themselves well to having sashes or belt ties attached so that the jacket can be drawn in to fit a child. Roll-up sleeves are an asset since they can be rolled a little higher for the young lady.
