Nova and Harley shook their heads and headed for their tent.

“I’m going to get the book of constellations I brought with me,” Nova said. “We should be able to see a lot of stars tonight.”

“Sure,” Harley said. “I’ll wait for you by the fire. I don’t want to be late for the cookout!”

As Nova trotted away, Harley spotted something in the grass.

The chipmunk!

The tiny creature spotted Harley and stood up on its hind legs. Harley was about to move toward it, but she stopped and closed her eyes instead.

One … two … three!

She opened her eyes, and the chipmunk was still there. Except now it was doing a handstand! Harley took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

One … two … three!

Harley opened her eyes, and now the chipmunk had its back to her, and was waving its tail back and forth.
