THE JUMPS
“Jumping rope” doesn’t need to be the same jump over and over again. We describe and illustrate a number of variations to the single jump in this book. Each jump has its own distinct benefits and targets specific training. Football or soccer players can benefit from the Alternating Single-Leg jump (page 70) while marathoners can perform Scissors (page 68) to build leg and hip strength to carry them through the long miles. It bears to mention that you don’t need to be an alpine enthusiast to enjoy The Skier (page 62)–each technique was created to benefit individuals of all athletic ability.
All jumps will use the classic grip (see page 33).
