Tier 6 (B side facing)

Knit with B and purl with A on odd-numbered rows; knit with A and purl with B on even-numbered rows. This tier contains eight fans (one first, six middle, and one last) worked in pattern from the Even Tiers Fan chart.

Turn work so B (dark) side is facing.

First Fan

Work short-rows according to First Fan instructions until Row 16 of chart has been completed.

Row 17: Purl 2 selvedge sts, work lifted inc, work to last chart st, Tp3tog (last fan st tog with next 2 sts), do not turn work—42 worked sts on right needle; 238 unworked sts rem on left needle.

Middle Fans (make 6)

Set-up: With B side still facing, [Tk1, Tp1] 9 times, do not turn work.

Work short-rows according to Middle Fan instructions until Row 16 of chart has been completed.

Row 17: Tk3tog (2 sl sts tog with 1 fan st after them), work to last chart st, Tp3tog (last fan st tog with next 2 sts), do not turn work—82 worked sts on right needle; 202 unworked sts rem on left needle.

For the next five middle fans, *work set-up row, then work Rows 1–17; rep from * 4 more times.

After the second middle fan, there will be 122 worked sts on right needle; 166 unworked sts on left needle.

After the third middle fan, there will be 162 worked sts on right needle; 130 unworked sts on left needle.

After the fourth middle fan, there will be 202 worked sts on right needle; 94 unworked sts on left needle.

After the fifth middle fan, there will be 242 worked sts on right needle; 58 unworked sts on left needle.

After the sixth middle fan, there will be 282 worked sts on right needle; 22 unworked sts on left needle.

Last Fan

Set-up: With B side still facing, [Tk1, Tp1] 9 times to last 4 sts, do not turn work.

Work short-rows according to Last Fan instructions until Row 16 of chart has been completed.

Row 17: Tk3tog (2 sl sts tog with 1 fan st after them), work to end of chart, work lifted inc, knit 2 selvedge sts—326 sts total: read from right to left with dark side facing, 2 selvedge sts, [2 foundation sts, 38 fan sts] 8 times, 2 foundation sts, 2 selvedge sts.
