Instructions:

1 Fold the bias strip in half lengthwise and cover the small ring in the same way as for the Kelly button (see pages 18–19).

2 Cover the large ring with the large circle of fabric using the singleton method (see page 16).

3 Place the small ring on top of the front of the large ring and secure in place with very small stitches. These should be worked catching the outer edge of the small ring and going through the fabric on the large ring.

4 Mark five divisions on the edge of the button. Using a metallic thread, work straight stitches over the small ring and the edge of the large ring. Work as many stitches as required to create a band at each division. These stitches are not only decorative, but will also help to ensure that the small ring is secure.

5 Cover the interfacing with the small circle of fabric using the singleton method to form the back.

6 Join front to back (see page 7) and finish as required.
