I’m Forgiven

My Bible Reading:

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. (Romans 8:1–2)

How many times have you failed in your life to do what was right? Ten times, twenty times, or more? Those failures and sins should logically build up to define you as a failure. But since you have received the power of the life-giving Spirit, you are by no means identified as a failure.

Truth is, because of what Jesus did, you belong to Him and you are no longer under condemnation. God the Father sees you as a forgiven child, pure and holy in His sight. “He [God] has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued [you] from the kingdom of darkness and transferred [you] into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased [your] freedom and forgave [your] sins” (Colossians 1:12–14).

Don’t believe the lie that you’re guilty or a failure because of your past failings and sin. Since God sees you as forgiven, accept that as your new reality. What God says is true of you is absolutely true—you’re forgiven!

My Prayer: Thank You that I’m forgiven. Help me continue to confidently believe that Your life-giving Spirit has freed me from the power of sin. I belong to You. Help me share this wonderful truth with someone today. Amen.
