What else happened, later in the day a cab driver came into the squad with some of the dead girlâs things â apparently on her way to drown herself she had gone to her motherâs house in a cab, then when the mother wasnât home she gave the cabbie a few dollars extra and asked him to drop the stuff off with her mother the next day â but when the cabbie heard the girl was dead he brought the items to the squad.
One of the items was a diary which basically read as a suicide note, and also had the detectiveâs name in it who had the relationship with this girl. Instead of vouchering it, the first-grade detective.who was running the case put the diary in his locker.
