Make Maracas

Materials

Uncooked rice

Easter egg

2 plastic spoons

Tape

Directions

Show your toddler a video of someone playing maracas and point out the maracas. Tell your toddler that maraca starts with the letter M. Sound it out together, like “m, m, maraca .” Ask your toddler if they would like to make their very own maraca. Let your little one put some rice into the Easter egg, and then close it. Now lay one spoon flat on the table, have your toddler place the Easter egg on the spoon, and then place the other spoon on top of the Easter egg.

Now you can wrap tape around the spoons and egg. I would also wrap tape around the spoon handles. Enjoy the sweet music your toddler will make all day!
