Eventually the ground hardened and its extensive planting now includes an avenue of cherries. They are half of a collection of Prunus which originated in Matsumae, Hokkaido. The other half line the path along the To p Drive going north from our main entrance ( Chapter Four ).

Back to the bridges. The top and middle fishponds had islands so we decided to build two bridges to both. We invited Banbury land -scape architect Robert A dams to design a number of options. We
