Lilium candidum (white madonna lily) grows 3 to 4 feet (about 1 m) in height and blooms in June.

Lilium longiflorum (Easter lily) is grown widely as a potted plant to be sold at Easter time. In climates where average January temperatures are above 35°F (2°C), potted Easter lilies can be planted outdoors after their blooms have faded. They will grow and bloom in July or August year after year in these climates.

Lilium regale blooms in July and grows 3 to 5 feet (1 to 11/2 m) tall; produces white or yellow flowers.
