This Acacia cognata ‘Limelight’ plant was diagnosed with severe root rot caused by the cinnamon fungus (Phytophthora cinnamomi). Hot wet periods in summer are the time when infestations are most likely in many parts of the country.

Pimple psyllids are annoying pests for many lilly pilly species, with the tiny insects sucking the sap from the underside of the leaves. This causes the unsightly swellings on the top of the leaves.

Syzygium australe ‘Silver Screen’ is often affected by pimple psyllids, but the damage may not be noticeable from a distance if the plant is used as a hedge or screen at the back of your garden.
