Optimal Retention Methods

With the wide variety of places on the body to store your staking weapon, is there an optimal location in which to do so? The answer largely depends on your day-to-day situation and the type of staking method preferred during combat. Those who prefer to use an ice-pick grip and strike with a downward stabbing motion into the target will probably prefer the back mount, while those who need to blend into society will probably choose a waist mount option. The fact is that most experienced vampire combatants do not rely on a single carrying method for all their stakes. Often they will utilize at least two, if not more, places to house a close combat weapon, in case one of the locations is compromised and to allow for a variety of attack alternatives.

Just as you should customize the design characteristics of your staking armament, you must also customize your weapon retention method. This will be dictated not only by your level of comfort and need for concealment, but also your ability to access the weapon with minimal interference should a vampire engagement occur unexpectedly.
