GDPR is a good start to protecting our privacy, and it shows that ultimately governments can take on even the largest violators if there's the political will to do so.

We need governments to do more to protect their citizens, as there's only so much that an individual can do.

4. EXPLORING THE FEDIVERSE

As mentioned in the previous chapter, the biggest privacy-friendly social network is the Fediverse.

It's made of up of thousands of smaller independent sites all linked together. Whichever site you join, you can follow people on any other Fediverse site.

It doesn't matter how small the site you join is, because you'll still have millions of people on other sites to interact with as it's a single network.
