Most of the action takes place in a South Pole military base that looks remarkably like southern California. Far too many dated, tiresome jokes about the rigors of Navy life. Supposedly based on a novel by classic sci-fi writer Murray Leinster. Cinematography by the great Stanley Cortez (The Magnificent Ambersons). AKA: The Night Crawlers.
